So you want a kitten?... or so you think

So you want a kitten?
No. Actually its your kid who thinks you want a kitten.
OK. so what kind of a kitten should you get. What breed do you think would fit into your livestyle. will this new kitten be good to your kid? thats important. never mind if your kid is not cat friendly. whats important is that the kitten do not scratch or hurt your kid, even in self-defence, when its been manhandled.
How do you feed this new cat? with what?
you have no idea, do you?
But you still feel you need this cat, because your kid has been bugging you for one.
Actually, she wanted a puppy. But you figured a puppy is too much of a hastle, taking him for walks everyday and night. that's just too much work for a busy mum/dad..so a cat is easier. All you need is to make sure she goes to the litter box. You can clear the litter box every week, if you can find the time.
This first consideration has got to be overcome before we move on to the next topic and help...

new cats on the block

Today, as I was walking along the void deck along the HDB block of flats in my neighbourhood, I found some new strays. They came from nowhere. They were not there last time I came by. Where did they come from?
I cannot help but feel sorry for these cats that are so homeless, unloved, uncared for.
So, now I have to go find some food for them. No just any human food. That would actually hurt them more than anything, because of the oil used in our cookings, which are already harmful to us human, what more for these felines.
The grey female looks pregnant. She was fierce, and very very hungry. Looks like another 3 weeks before she will deliver another litter of homeless kittens...
how are were going to keep helping these cats find a good home ?

Words of Wisdom from the Bible

Every New Day I8 a Gift From God
Pr.3:5-8
Trust in the Lord in ALL things

and lean not on your own understanding

In all your ways acknowledge Him

and He will make your paths straight

Lean not on your own understanding

but fear the Lord and shun from evil

This will bring good health to your body

And nourishment to your bones

why

why are there so many
stories about cats

cats who are left out in the cold unfriendly street
cats who are left out to defend themselves

why are there crazy people
who diliberately hunt down these innocent cats

to torture them
to torment them

why? tell me why?
cruel world

Search your hearts

There are about 15 stray cats in my neighbourhood. Most of them were originally not strays. They belonged to some families. How ever, when these families moved out, they decided that their 'pets' did not deserve to move with them, and were left behind, whether these cats would eventually be adopted by new families or not, they probably couldn't bother. Their acts of abandoning these cats were just simple human selfishness. Fortunately, we do have some cat loving families left in our neighbourhood, but we do have our own pets in our homes already, and we have no more room for any additionals. Even then, how many can we take in. My family already have rescued 5, and are now caring for them in our home. Many of my other neighbours have also rescued and adopted some for themselves. For every 1 cat we rescued from the streets, there are 2 more being abandoned by irresponsible owners. These shameless humans are just inhuman to disregard lives. Don't they realise that keeping a pet is a lifetime commitment? or have they forgotten, that just like their own children, these animals deserve a home too. I hope that more Singaporeans will open their hearts to these defensely animals, left out in the cold unfriendly streets of Singapore
